Automatic Transmission Hi-Performance Overhauls and Modifications
Our automatic transmission team have experienced growing demand over the last few years to expand our hi-performance / drag application services. We are proud to have gained experience in various late model electronic transmissions, such as:
» Toyota Soarer, Supra, etc. » Subaru 4 Speed, both current and previous models. » Nissan Skyline, Patrol, etc. » Mazda MX5 Turbo. We have developed some unique modifications and set-ups including full manual shift kits and electronic modifications. Western Suburbs Automatics carry out the following modifications on our hi-performance transmission overhauls: » Dismantle and clean all components;» Set pump on lathe and machine perfectly flat, flat sand case components; » Install new clutch pack seals, case gaskets, sealing rings (teflon/chrome), seals & o'rings; » Improve the torque capacity of the transmission by: - installing heavy duty friction linings - increasing the number of friction plates - increase the band friction area - Install new clutch pack » Carry out valve body modifications such as installing purchased "Shift Kits", "Shift Correction Kits", custom modifications carefully developed by our staff, change accumulator springs, modify lubrication circuits. » Flat sand the valve bodies surfaces (normal heat distorts the metal, they are rarely flat). » Improve the torque convertor to produce stall related to engine performance (stall convertor). » Flush the tansmission cooler, check cooler flow and fit external coolers where required.
